Abigail Sweeney, Au.D., LPC-A
Founder, Hope Healing Center | Clinical Audiologist & Licensed Professional Counselor Associate | Brainspotting Certified & EMDR Trained
I’m Abigail, and I’ve sat in the client chair. I’m a complex-PTSD survivor whose own healing came through excellent therapy, nervous-system work, and a living faith in Jesus. I started The Healing Marathon because I learned firsthand that healing takes time, practice, and grace. My greatest honor now is to enter my clients’ stories with that same care—bringing clarity, grounded skills, and steady hope.
I am a Doctor of Audiology who, because of my own journey of healing from complex PTSD, was inspired to earn a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University with a focus on trauma. I have over 15 years of experience as an audiologist and am the owner of Louisville Family Audiology, where I continue to manage and serve patients with compassion and excellence. Walking with patients through long-suffering, lifestyle changes, and identity shifts has taught me how deeply holistic healing truly is. My passion for counseling grew out of both my personal healing and my years of supporting patients who experience long-suffering due to hearing loss and related challenges. The degree in clinical mental health came from a deep desire to help others on their own healing marathon—to offer the same hope, peace, and freedom I’ve experienced through my own process of restoration. I’m Brainspotting Certified, trained in EMDR, informed by Internal Family Systems (parts work), and regularly use HeartMath-style coherence practices for emotional regulation.
I’ve been married to Dr. Damien Sweeney since 2012, and we’re raising three beautiful boys who keep me laughing, humbled, and growing. They’re a big part of why I keep doing my own work—so I can show up as the healthiest version of myself for my family and for the people I serve.
Areas I specialize in:
Childhood trauma, complex PTSD, anxiety and panic, grief and transitions, faith-integrated healing (when desired).
My promise to you:
I’ll meet you with honesty, warmth, and clinically sound care; I’ll respect your pace; and I’ll hold hope for you until you can hold it for yourself.
What to expect in working with me:
A calm, welcoming environment and a clear plan
Gentle assessment that honors your story without re-traumatizing
Practical tools to understand your emotions and regulate your body
Thoughtful, paced trauma processing when you’re ready
